This dissemination conference reviewed progress towards the establishment of the UK as the safest online environment for children and learners across the world. Delegates heard first hand the latest government initiatives and current thinking to ensure the safeguarding of children within their own organisation.
Representatives of the leading commercial suppliers of e-safety products and services were available to showcase new developments.

The conference:
- Communicated current best practice in ensuring the safety of children and learners online
- Outlined the priorities and action planning required by Local Safeguarding Children Boards to ensure that their responsibilities under the Every Child Matters agenda are met
- Offered the opportunity to learn about current national initiatives designed to support and promote the online safeguarding agenda
- Identifed barriers and issues which still need to be addressed in order that further progress may be made
- Showcased products and services which can support the safeguarding initiative
Audience
The conference brought together the most influential and successful leaders from children's services, schools, colleges, higher education, local authorities, local safeguarding children boards, Government Offices, adult learning, workplace learning and the technology industry. Additionally there was input from senior policy makers from government and its agencies.

The event featured prominent national speakers from the Home Secretary's Task Force for Child Protection on the Internet, with knowledge and expertise of online safeguarding issues, including:
