Hilton Birmingham Metropole
National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, West Midlands, B40 1PP
Event details
This event focused on supporting ICT leaders and innovators in schools with the decisions they make about using technology for teaching and learning.
With real world examples from UK schools and from Scandinavia, the emphasis was on how you can make the most of existing ICT investments while also looking ahead to what you could be doing in the not too distant future.
Objectives
This one-day conference featured four key strands:
- The potential for ICT in schools - Innovative examples of imaginative and groundbreaking technology use in education from visionaries and school leaders.
- Handheld technologies - ICT innovators in schools share their experiences of deploying handheld devices to large groups of pupils.
- The state we're in - The perspective from Becta and the Government on how well schools are integrating technology into teaching and learning and where improvements are needed.
- The view from the floor - Delegates had a chance to respond to the speakers, sharing their experiences and challenges, as well as questioning them on what they think should be the priorities for the near future.
